File

Open...

Keyboard: Ctrl-O

On this command CCCalc asks you to select which file to open, then opens it, and switches to this calculation history. Opened file name is displayed in the title of CCCalc's window.

CCCalc will use the opened file until you open another one, or close this file with menu command "Close".

You can also open a new file by double-clicking it in the Windows Explorer.

Note: Please avoid opening files other then ones that were saved by CCCalc, because CCCalc always rewrites opened files and you may loose your data.

Save As...

Keyboard: Ctrl-S

On this command CCCalc asks you to select folder and file name, then saves current calculation history to this file and switches to this calculation history file. File name is displayed in the title of CCCalc's window.

CCCalc will use opened file until you open another one, or close this file with menu command "Close".

Note: CCCalc sets ".cccalc" extension to this file name by default. If you change this extension, you will not be able to open this file with a doubleclick in Windows Explorer.

Close

Keyboard: Ctrl-F4

This command is active only if CCCalc works with "named" calculation history, e.g. you have executed "Open" or "Save As" command previously.

This command saves calculation history to the current file and then switches CCCalc to an unnamed default calculation history.

CCCalc will work with unnamed calculation history until you open another one or save this calculation history to a named file.

Note: unnamed calculation history is stored in the file "cccalc.cccalc" at the folder "<Your Profile>\Application Data".

Print

Keyboard: Ctrl-P

Prints the current calculation history

Split

Keyboard: F4

Splits the window to an active and inactive parts or closes inactive part. The inactive part also may be closed with "x" button at its top right corner.

The inactive part is used by memory operations. It also may be useful to drag-drop text from one part to another etc.

Show keypad

Keyboard: F5

Opens and closes the virtual keypad at the bottom of CCCalc window. This keypad can also be closed with "x" button at its top right corner.

Calculation settings...

Opens a dialog box which allows you to set up calculation precision and rounding up.

General settings...

Opens a dialog box which makes it possible to hide CCCalc's window to the system tray, simulate NumLock mode and tune up some other behavior details of the CCCalc to your convenience.

View settings...

Opens dialog box which controls a "paper" ruling and number grouping.

Font settings...

Opens a dialog box to select font for calculations.

Exit

Keyboard: ALT-F4

Saves calculation history to the disk and exits CCCalc.

Edit

Menu Edit contains common editing operations. Most of these operations are also available via virtual keypad buttons. Clipboard operations are also available in the popup menu (see below).

Undo

Keyboard: CTRL-Z

This command rolls back the last  text modification. Repeat this command to undo several modifications sequentially.

Redo

Keyboard: CTRL-R

This command repeats text modification which was last rolled back with Undo command, e.g. it rolls back the latest rollback. Repeat this command to redo several rollbacks.

Cut

Keyboard: CTRL-X or SHIFT-DEL

This command deletes selection and copies it to the Clipboard.

If no selection were set then it copies and not deletes:

  • a number if the caret is somewhere inside it
  • an operation symbol if the caret is above it

Copy

Keyboard: CTRL-C or CTRL-INS

This command copies selection to the Clipboard.

If no selection were set then it copies:

  • a number if the caret set somewhere inside it
  • an operation symbol if the caret is above it

Paste

Keyboard: CTRL-V or SHIFT-INS

This command pastes clipboard text to the location marked by the caret. Please note that CCCalc ignores all characters of the text being pasted that it can not interpret. It also may add a zero number or a line break to the left or to the right of the text being inserted.

It there is a selection then a new text replaces selected text.

Select expression

Keyboard: CTRL-E

Mouse: left double click

Selects the whole expression which contains the caret.

Select all

Keyboard: CTRL-A

Selects all text.

Clear all

Keyboard: F8

Clear all text and creates a single empty expression "0=0".

Memory

This menu provides memory operation commands. For details see Operations with memory.

All these commands are also available via buttons of the virtual keypad.

Popup menu

Right mouse click will set the caret and also open the popup menu.

This menu contains all actions from Memory menu and some useful actions from Edit menu:
